Pure Skin Formulations BHA 5% Solution is a beta-hydroxy acid that works within the pore to dissolve sebum and oil. Salicylic Acid is very effective as both a surface exfoliant, as well as having the ability to penetrate and exfoliate deeply within the pore. This process results in the chemical extraction of sebum plugs from the pore. Salicylic Acid also demonstrates topical antibacterial properties to help clear up existing acne eruptions, as well as discouraging new breakouts, blackheads and whiteheads. This beta-hydroxy acid solution is perfect for normal to oily skin types as well as acneic skin. Also available in 2% Salicylic Acid. If you have not used a BHA before, we recommend starting with the 2% and working up to 5% over time. Using 5% on skin that is not accustomed to low pH acids may result in excessive dryness and/or peeling. Warning: Salicylic Acid is chemically related to aspirin. Do not use if you have an allergy to aspirin.
